From SBC Canada...just arrived in my mailbox.
Love or hate Hubba "pornlite" ads, this mother sounds like one cool mother!
DEAR SIRS (OR I SEE BY YOUR MASTHEAD THAT YOU ARE MOSTLY SIRS)
I'm a mom. I have a little guy who is totally is into skateboarding. I bought him a great deck from Skull Skates; I take him to watch skaters at the Plaza; I don't comptain if he wants to stand on his skateboard at the dinner table instead of sitting in his chair. [even, on a whim, I picked up this skate mag at Antisocial for him to look at. In short, I am the very picture of a supportive skatemom.
That's why it drives me around the bend when you run ads such as Hubba Wheels. page 211, see Skateboard Photo Annual 2006. I mean OH MY GOOD ####### HELL YOU GUYS ARE STUPID. STUPID STUPID STUPID.
I mean, it's a big fat glossy magazine. A joy to look at, full of the cleverest ads and the best photography of any sports-related journal I've seen. The Hubba ad is the only, ONLY sour note in the whote thing, DID YOU THINK WE WOULDN'T NOTICE? OH MY GOD.
The world is changing, lads. In fact, it changed a long time ago. There's going to be a generation boys and girls joining the sport who will be raised to believe in equality and tolerance, and they're going to have moms like me with lots of money to spend on gear and paraphernalia WHO WILL NOT STAND FOR ANY SEXIST SHENANIGANS. So get with the ####### program, bitches,
With no warm holiday wishes,
Stacey
Mom of a future skate king. I'm so disappointed in you
for an industry that has 50% of its demographic under 11, I think this is pretty ####ed up campaign.
anyone can market porno to children...
there are some who think this is genius. I don't buy it.
Ummm. I was gonna post a link...but I think I might get scolded for posting a link to porn...
Seriously...
Just do a google for Hubba Wheels. They have a section with the ads in a slideshow for lil' wankers.
