I'm not going to say anything. Just watch it for yourself. The location is Charleston's Waterfront Park. I've skated there many times myself.

I am against frivolous law suits but I would definately be talking to a lawyer if I was the kid skating. I would call it repayment for all the stupid tickets and arrests I have gotten in the past.

As I said in the other thread, most states have laws allowing officers to use all necessary and reasonable force to stop a crime from happening (the report I read said that skateboarding there). He could sue the police officer, but I doubt he'd win the case.

"Reasonable force" would be "STOP! It is illegal to skate in this area!" then issue a citation. If he refuses to stop then apprehending him in an appropriate manner would be necessary. "An appropriate manner" would not be pulling a gun and shooting him for suspiscion of skateboarding.

"Reasonable force" is not shoving him into a hedge and then barking at him as though she is the judge and jury.

"Reasonable force" is, well, reasonable. If this video were of a citizen doing the same thing to a skater it would be grounds for assault. Police are not immune from such charges.

Is anyone still skating the Bus Terminal? The past couple of times I was down there this winter it was empty. I know Greg and his crew used to be down there just about every night with their rail and ramp. I haven't seen them in a couple of years.

Here's a thought experiment for all you legal scholars.

YOU are riding down the street (or sidewalk) on your board.
Police come up behind you in a Ford Galaxy cruiser.
The police tell you to stop.
You can't hear over the loud chattering of your wheels.
The police turn the steering wheel slightly to the right and run you down to make you stop skating.

Is this scenario different than this "peace officer" pushing a skater over a hedge and possibly inflicting serious injury?
