I saw that too, i wasnt really paying attention to the tv, then i heard the cheering looked up and saw him falling from the damn ceiling, that was one of the gnarliest crashes/falls i have ever seen. Somebody is watching over that fool for him to walk away from that.
Typical of todays sk8 fashion the shoes were likely untied anyway. I haven't seen it yet but I'm sure it will be on youtube soon.
Hope he is getting a big paycheck.
Oops der it is -
Okay second edit. Technically yes everything was perfect on the landing. It seem he through himself outward (into the middle of the ramp) instead of a clean rotation. At that speed and height a little mistake can cost you plenty.
Hope he is Okay, though.

The initial trick was almost perfect a little more landing on the rear of the deck but he seemed to have rotated (towards the middle of the ramp) inward rather then accross.
At that rate of speed and height a little technical error makes a huge difference.
Ouch!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Incredible that he didn't sustain anything permanent. His head hit quite hard with some whiplash thrown in there as well.

wow, that was insane... I am amazed he didn't get seriously hurt. Judging by the slow motion replay he got some pretty sweet whiplash, so I bet he'll at least be really sore.
yeah, after watching his first big make, my wife and i were watching to see what he'd do next. we were speechless when he hit. i cannot believe that he was able to walk away!
chalk that up to pure determination and australian blood.
I was honestly surprised that the EMS people let him stand up with the potential of spinal chord injuries I expected them to strap him down to a board and get him to the hospital for injuries. Every once in a while you hear about someone who breaks their spine but doesn't hurt the chord until they stand up and move around.
Scary that just a few years ago the "Giant Ramps" were just a thing that Danny Way did? Now it's an X-games event. While I'm in no way saying that people aren't qualified to ride the super ramps but I can see more people being injured like this in the future and likely in even more spectacular fashion....
