A warning to all journalists...who write badly about skateboarding...
Picked this little Item Up...
VANDALIA — Dec. 1: A Vandalia resident reported receiving threatening phone messages from an associate he met through a skateboarding contest. The male subject was reportedly upset about an article the complainant wrote. The subject threatened to jam the complainant's jaw down his throat, rip out his larynx and several other violent acts.
Re: A warning to all journalists...who write badly about skateboarding...
Wouldn't threatening to cut off his fingers and jamming them in his ears, eyes and throat have been a more appropriate threat? Please know that I am being cynical.
What exactly was written about said subject?
Now, I'm not in skating for the competition or to make any sort of living; so I can't say that I have any type of reputation to protect. But what warrants such abhorrent behavior?
It's funny - to me, skateboarding has always been a cut loose and relax mentality and most of the people I've skated with share that. Yet often I find people who have a "don't step on me" attitude.

Wow ... Good thing I never win at any of the contests I enter. Wouldn't want anybody that PO'd at me. I better stop practicing in case I accidently get better. I have a wife and kids to think about.
