in response to thugs using skateboards as weapons...I give you baseball bat stories..
I have to admit I am very angry about the newlyweds who were attacked by a pack of skaters. But are they skaters who are thugs or thugs who skate?
Just googled "baseball bat." Do these stories reflect badly on baseball? Let the can of worms be opened...
Texas teens get probation in baseball-bat deer deaths
Associated Press
IRAAN — Two teens accused of beating two deer to death with baseball bats have received five months deferred adjudication probation.
Call Cade pleaded no contest and Zac Owen pleaded guilty to hunting with illegal means and methods, a class C misdemeanor, the Odessa American reported in today's editions. Both are 17.
They were ordered to pay a $500 court fee. If they stay out of trouble for five months, the cases against them will be dismissed.
They also were found guilty of hunting in closed season and paid a $300 fine and $61 in court costs. They must receive counseling.
The names and punishment of two others involved in the incident were withheld because they are minors.
Three of the teens are juniors at Iraan High School, and one is a sophomore.
An investigation into the deaths began after the deer were found dead on the baseball field on Dec. 7.
Iraan, a community of about 1,100, is about 115 miles southwest of San Angelo, just west of the Crockett County line.

Attacker threatened women with baseball bats in bedroom By Court reporter
A WINSFORD man hid in the dark before jumping off a wardrobe and threatening two women with a baseball bat.
Colin Reid circled his partner Samantha Benson and her sister Rebecca Mellor and said: "You think you are clever. I am going to kill you both."
As the women fled he threw the bat, hitting Ms Mellor on her arm.
Reid, of Chiltern Way, who is 20 today, admitted the assault and attacking Ms Benson on Christmas Day when he cut her with a sweet tin lid when he appeared at Vale Royal Magistrates' Court in Northwich on Thursday. On that occasion he was given bail by under conditions not to approach Ms Benson but breached it less than two days later.
Karen Morgan-Read, prosecuting, said on December 8 at 11.30pm Ms Benson had asked her to accompany her the house she shared with Reid to collect some things as she was leaving him.
All the lights were off and the sisters went upstairs to the bedroom.
Mrs Morgan-Read said: "When they got to the bedroom they saw a piece of paper on the bed which said: You are a slag'. They heard a noise from behind. The defendant jumped off the wardrobe with a baseball bat.
"He was circling the girls saying: You think you are so clever. I'm going to kill you both'."
Mrs Morgan-Read said as the women fled he screamed: It's my house' and threw the bat.
The defendant and Ms Benson eventually made up but on Christmas Day an argument broke out.
He threw a sweet tin lid, which hit her mouth causing it to bleed and knocked over a Christmas tree. Police bailed him under the condition he didn't approach her but at 4am on December 27 he breached it.
Magistrates gave him a curfew from 7pm to 7am until his next appearance on January 21, ordered him to reside in Chiltern Way and not approach either of the witnesses.
The court clerk warned him that although it was his birthday if he went out after 7pm it would be breaching that bail.

the fallacy here is that a person with a skateboard is much more likely to be a skater than a person holding a baseball bat is to be a baseball player.
LAUDERHILL, Fla. -- A 12-year-old Florida boy is accused of beating a toddler to death with a baseball bat because she was crying while he was trying to watch TV.
