Name the five best board builders of all time?! Dopamine, dopamine, dopamine, dopamine.. and Dopamine! Hahaha, I am going to follow you around on SF and post that after every single one of your posts.
As per the subject, I don't think longboarding will ever blow up, and if it does, I think it will be in the same league as the razor scooter. Just my thoughts, I guess.

Re: 2008...is this year zero of the boom?
i really think there's a number of things that could happen. first one...it seems to me that mainstream skateboarding (read: shortboarding) is wavering a little bit; people are getting tired of the skate image. so, if shortboarding falters (to me), so will longboarding. second one...in reference to a conversation in flashchat last night (shortboarding aside), maryhill is on NBC, and spectators/TV viewers just aren't thrilled with the racing. longboarding keeps growing underground, but in the mainstream goes ka-put (not to be confused with "chaput"). third (this one also excludes shortboarding's influence), FOS on NBC really takes the flying #### off...people fall in love with longboarding and "bombing" hills. the smaller, non-s9 brands like DOPAMINE really take off, and the whole scene explodes. fourth possibility, as i see it, shortboarding's popularity stays the same, but the chillness of longboarding really takes off, regardless of FOS or anything else.
Sliding could really take off soon, its funny to see everyone who's interested in it, on the hill that I slide at (watchtower) its funny how many people just pull out their cameras and take pics and all that. I've also noticed A LOT of new people in the site, so I have to agree with you, but I don't think we'll notice too much.
I don't what it is, but this last 2 weeks, I've seen lots of people riding around town on longboards, and not just Sector 9s, I've seen Landyachtz, Loaded, and Kracked Skulls getting pushed around as well. It's cool to see stoke building, whenever I see someone riding a setup that doesn't look straight from Zumiez, I want to just pull over and give them a high 5 , but that might be a little weird for them. It's also kinda sad though in a way, I took pride in the fact that I probably knew as much or more about longboarding than anyone in town, I'm pretty sure this is still true, except for my fellow Silverfishers.
its been getting alot bigger around where i live too.i could honestly care less if it gets big in the media but having a nice big crowd of people to ride with across the world sounds good to me.
yeah i started boarding this year and so far 5 of my friends have started also and i have more each day telling me they want to try it, the only bummer is i'm the only one who is trying to get heavy into the downhill/ drifting side of longboarding, everyone else is content with cruising and small straight bombs

Peragydes sold out within days, other dh events are having record breaking attendances, the idea of bringing a cap on racers is coming around.....the boom of the sport is here, but can the contest organizers handle it? Or can everyone get a chance to ride?
