so gas is really expensive and so the closest jobs are:
1.nicos taco shop(however I am not mexican and i don't do cocaine so) so I can't work there.
2. bruegers bagel shop(and just about everyone in my school already works there

im the kind of kid who buys the $20 dollar shirt, and the $100 dollar shoes to be in style lol. but since i started longboarding i havent even bought any clothes lol. i guess i found a better way to spend money
I'm the kind that only buys cloths when they don't fit at all anymore. Usually i try to go to Goodwill or Savers, but my mum's like "We can afford to get you new clothes!" and i go "Ya, i know but it's a waste!" and she go's "We're getting you new clothes!"

A survey of 5,000 teens conducted by Piper Jaffray in April found that they expect to spend an average $1,183 on fashion this year, down 19% from last year and down 23% from 2006.
Who the hell spends that much on clothes!? I'm 19, have a damn good job for a 19 year old ($14/hour internship, hehe I'm actually at work right now) and I don't even spend close to that!
I spend whatever my parents give me, and buy almost no clothes on my own. All my money goes to snowboard and longboard equipment. Oh, and I suppose a fair amount goes to drugs and alcohol

Re: trouble with teens...not dropping the $$$
i need some new tshirts... the ol' 5 shirt rotation is getting pretty old, i feel like a broken record. fortunately for me, seattle is full of concerts with great bands selling shirts for 10 bucks each.
and i'm pretty sure the $1100 that "most" teenagers spend on clothes is spent at abercrombie and hollister by all the jocks and preppy kids. or from women at victoria's secret (they can spend all they like there as far as i'm concerned)...

not much money goes into skateboarding. so i treasure the little I have for as long as I can. I still have my first longboard (sector9 supercruiser) which Is close to or a little older than 10 years old. My parents never gave me money for skateboarding stuff when i was a teen, and when they did give me money for something, it usually went to beer.
yeahhh i think that the average girl makes up for the average guy who's rate of spending money on clothes is looww. Compared to my friends, i would say that i spend much less on clothes then they do. But i still buy at least a couple items every other month or sometimes every month. What girl doesnt go shopping like every other week! Guys can look hot wearing dirty jeans and a ripped t shirt. a girl just looks raggedy and dykey wearing those.
While that estimate of 1100 dollars does seem way higher than what I spend on clothers every year, I also know kids who make that number seem laughable. My roommate freshman year of college had over 20 pairs of shoes and several outfits to match one, one day he was wearing:
$250 Nike SB shoes
$120 jeans
$80 t-shirt(can't remember what brand)
$340 BAPE hoodie
So I can definitely understand how that would be an average number when people spend more on one article of clothing than I do for my entier year's wardrobe. I like to buy clothes, wear them in, then wear them into the ground, people have to wrestle me to the ground to get a good pair of jeans away from me, no matter how much I've torn them up.
