so, if you have a skate connection that defies logic...or is somehow magically infused with a heavy dose of karma, post it here...

lol this is a bit of a stretch but here goes,
tom hanks played jim lovell in ( apollo 13) lovell in another mission - Gemini 7 was joined in space by Gemini 6, manned by Walter M. Schirra, Jr. for the first successful space rendezvous. Walter Schirra attended my school (njit) where he became a member of my fraternity sigma pi - he also grew up on the street from where i live (dumont, nj)

i got two weird ones...
When Jack had the first Morrow Bay world slalom championship, Adam from NCDSA made a shirt for it with a slalom skater on the front. Anyways, I used to play a strange sport called 'footbag net', a footbag friend emailed me and said a fellow net player was on that Morrow Bay shirt! It turned out Rick Bates use to slalom competetively back in the days! Adam never told me how he got that old picture of Rick??
about five years ago, a high school kid contacted me through my sk8sanjose website, he was staying with his uncle for the summer and wanted to longboard. His uncle's house turned out to be my parent's old house! He was also doing web design for Daddies board shop, so he put a sillouette of me sliding on the front page (except I was just posing like in one of their recent ads )

An argument here with Paipo Jim led to diagrams that were one of the things that got me doing the FAQ for Randal.
Which lead to me designing him a truck...
Blows me out a bit that...

I met custom bike builder Gard Hollinger, who introduced me to car/bike builder Cole Foster, who is good friends with Jason Jessee, whom I had met many years ago. Jason is friends with Tom Knox, whom I met whilst attending a tattoo convention, where my (at the time) girlfriend got a tattoo by some guy who also tattooed Jason and Eric Dressen, amongst others.
Small world.

somehow when i read this i made the connection with a small, handcrafted bicycle company named Ellsworth...i have no idea why, but i guess because i hadn't seen the name of the bike company in a few years, and couldn't remember, and was like "oh yeah, that's right!"
oh well, at least i found Ellsworth again. they make some sick bikes. check out "The Dare" ellsworthbikes.com

This spring when I was just getting into longboarding and this site, I was skating a ditch (in albuquerque) and I found this awesome starting ramp. I told bear about it, he talked to someone else, who then talked to someone at timeship racing, and the spot I found is now the harper ditch slap course.
