'On July 27 the much-discussed ‘Shaun White For Target’ apparel line hit all 1,613 Target stores across 47 states nationwide, and Target has launched an ad campaign on prime time television to support the line. The partnership announcement between White and Target came on the heels of news that Volcom—White’s former streetwear sponsor—had not renewed his contract, and sparked a ton of controversy. Message boards across the Net have impassioned postings from users both for and against White’s deal with the mass-market retail chain. But regardless of how you feel about the line’s launch, if you’ve seen the commercials you’ve got to admit—they are pretty damn funny!'
Anytime some company's name is mentioned in a story here, next thing you know their banners pop up on silverfishy. I don't like seeing a *Target banner on these pages. And I'm assuming that just mentioning them is what creates the banner link? Way to get them more business
Shaun White is and always will be a snowboarder to me. Even when he skates, I still see the style of a snowboarder. Yeah, yeah, he's a wildly strong and indefatigable athlete and the legs he got from years of whipping a snowboard around and going as big as possible are evident. I'm sure any sport he pursued he would be a strong competitor simply because his body is accustomed to years and years of training.
He's one of the most identifiable pro athletes across the board so of course he's got no end of potential sponsors courting him from every direction. That said, I still don't see the purpose of posting this. Everyone here already knows he's a pro with sponsors of many flavors.
So...? The only result of posting it here is now Target has a damned banner ad on the site

shaun white, unsportsmanlike?
example?
(I am just asking, I don't watch snowboarding.., only caught maloof online)
ok here's the deal
x games last hear he jumps around and waves his fist in the air as if he won, more than just excited - find it watch for yourself
yes he did win but sandro was yet to go
at maloof he was slamming his board on the stairs
i'm sorry but i feel (especially in today's society) someone needs to call him on his behavior
i am surprised tony or bob hasn't yet
i am friends with some of the guys on the action sports tours (competitors) and many of them dislike his behavior also.
just my 2 cents
anyone else can feel about him however they want,
but as a top competitor (and decent person) he needs to act professionally in my opinion.
hope i haven't offended anyone here, but some people need to learn how 2 compete with grace, win or lose
