When did all this happen and who did it?
a manual is "technically" an ollie to a wheelie. so, if you're just cruising around and pop a wheelie, it's just a wheelie...you gotta pop an ollie and land on two wheels to "technically" be a manual

Age gap? Maybe. But they were called manuals when I started skating in 1985...soooooo I dunno.

"Like the time I caught the ferry over to Shelbyville. I needed a new heel for my shoe. So, I decided to go to Morganville, which is what they called Shelbyville in those days. So I tied an onion to my belt, which was the style at the time. Now, to take the ferry cost a nickel, and in those days nickels had pictures of bumblebees on them. 'Give me five bees for a quarter', you'd say. Now, where were we? Oh, yeah...the important thing was that I had an onion on my belt, which was the style at the time. They didn't have white onions because of the war; the only thing you could get was those big yellow ones."

You guys are clueless. "Wheelie" came from drag racing.
And riding a skateboard with the front wheels off the ground has been called a "wheelie" since at least 1963. It's a "nose wheelie" when you ride with the back wheels off the ground:

Hang ten nose wheelie rule use to be able to do them the length of the parking lot south of the Mission beach plunge when my ankles were good.
My other favorite trick that is pure style is G turns frontside, backside and backwards.
I miss the days when free flow style was king Stacey Peralta had the best flow I have seen.

I still remember the shot of Stacey in a *360 spin, just this big wave of spinnin hair. But yeah, he had style.
How bout Skitch Hitchcock and one footed *360's...
