Default Review:Eastside forever

Well got my Eastside Dropkick. It took awhile cant rush a good thing (or handmade decks). Ok I have a few probs with the fit and finish, but i contacted Robsky and he made it right. You cant get that out of thoughs factory boards. This is my first "speed" board and on my second ride i found some little hills(by no means mts. not got the balls for that yet). This board is so much faster than my other collections. I did buy a complete with randels and 76mm 84a Gumballs. I did have to tighten the trucks up more than i expected (harder bushins are comin soon) but it felt very stable. I do more riding around town than down hillin but i have avoided some parts due to the hills. With that said i was looking for a crossover leanin to speed. I think i have found it. I just have to find the kicktail. So far i feel like i am movin alot to hit it. That's not cool in traffic. Not a prob with the deck just somethin i have to get comfortable with. Stay tuned as time goes on i will keep everybody up on a Older rider on a new style. .) One Eye

What problems with fit and finish? I've always thought Eastside boards were built pretty well. No misdrills, delaminations, etc...

I just got a dropkick as well, and I have to thank you EC because you posted a pic or a link awhile back on the dropkick. I had seen mention of Eastside on SF but I had gone to the Eastbuilt website instead, not the same . I had been looking for a drop through with concave and a kicktail and the kicktail guard is apt. Don't tell my other boards but I think I have a new favorite, my ideal of an all around board now. I guess my only frustration was not being able to use my 76mm Superballs without insufferable wheelbite, so I am using 66mm SB's instead. No trouble with the gumballs though? I will probably post some pics here after I locate some batteries for my camera.

They are real popular in Portland. It's a good (and unique) design.

Fit and finish had a crack in the bottom layer and the tail was a little twisted nothing effected the ride. I sent them some pics and they made it right. These boys from Portland could have said forget you your a hick from TN but they didnt thats how you do business. I am a redneck that likes to skate and them Eastside Bros can hang out at my place and have some homemade wine whenever they want.

I got some batteries so here's the pics. Trucks are standard rev2 RII 180's. Wheels are 66mm superballs. Bearings are rush 7's. Bushings front/bottom- green stim front/top- lemon bennett barrel under a red holey cone. Bushings back/bottom- orange JimZ bottom back/top- lemon barrel under a green stim. Love the tail guard, unsure about the noseguard. This board is very agile but can handle speed just fine. I love this ####### board!

I just wasn't thinkin when i posted here. How do you move it? Go ahead. Any how i really like this board. I was thinking the gumballs would be slicker I like the old school powerslides, dont get me wrong they slide. I feel like my cheap surf one wheels slide better, but this could be due to the wheel base also. Still gettin tryin to get comfee on the board, but it is a better board than i am. One Eye .)

Ok nobody has moved this yet so i will keep anyone who cares updated.) Still love my new ride but at the sametime still gettin used to it. I am writing this for us older riders who just like cruizen and reliving the days of rippin up the concrete. Love the deck but still a little wondering why my wheels are bitten on my backside? any suggestions on stiffer bushings will be taken into review. Running 76mm gumballs maybe alittle big. I weight 184. I do love the old school powerslides that i am achieving. Still rollin on all my decks just so i have a varied view. Keep pushing brothers. Thanks One Eye. P.S. any company wanting to put out a 44" vision pyscho or gator i am down .)

Well still rollin on my Drop Kick and still lovin it. I will be buying another Eastside soon. I am thinkin hard about the super kick. I am still learnin on the DK trying too pick up on new ridin skills but it still has the kicktail so i can roll around the city and still have that stoppin comfort. Even though when i move to the tail i dont move back enough and have a little vans-to-wheel bite, just still gettin adjusted to the smaller tail no worries. I have had some non-ridin brothers come over and they liked the comfortable and stable ride of the randels and gumballs. Keep pushin One Eye .)
