the issue on some of the Dervishes is not so much the fiberglass, as: 1. bamboo has the tendency to crack when torqued, and 2. its happening right behind the cutout for the drop through - if it were topmount the bamboo would last longer.
I've found that birch, fiberglass and carbon fiber lasts for years of insane abuse but maintains its snap. it'll be cool to see what you're finding with the organic stuff. hemp?
