Akron was held in '77 and '78. I raced in the '78 version.
When Ellen left Action Now as ad director I was offered the job by Dave Dash, the publisher. I had met Dave a couple of weeks earlier when Gary Fluitt and I were filmed sandboarding for "Action Now Magazine for Television".
Ellen was/is a very nice woman. I spoke with her a couple of years ago, she is doing very well. And yes, I had a crush on her also.
