I'm new to the skateboarding scene, but now love to cruise around. I'd really like to commute to work as well. (and cruise with my 13 yr old son) Currently, I have a G&S 44" Blacktip with 70mm wheels, that I purchased at a garage sale. After awhile, I noticed it is a bit soft and saggy. I sometimes bite it cause it bounces while I am pushing.

So, I am looking to get a different board, and I think I want a stiffer and a little shorter board. The surfaces here are a mix of everything from decent smooth cement sidewalks, to cracked sidewalks, to ashpalt. I am 30 yrs old and 210lbs so I was thinking a stiffer board might be the ticket. I'd like a board that would stay stiff over the years as well.

Any suggestions for an kinda old kinda fat guy?
