Hey buddy. Well, there really are a lot of different places here to skate depending on what you're wanting to do. Dallas has some sick garages downtown and a few off of 75 a little north of downtown. if you are wanting to do some downhill, you can find quite a few 30ish mph runs in random neighborhoods throughout the metroplex, but we usually hit up the same couple. Aledo, on the west side of Ft. Worth is where you start getting into the really good DH stuff. 40+ mph runs are common out there.

the scene here in DFW is pretty amazing. the two biggest crews i would say are our crew (Bombsquad Longboarding) and Tx. Baked. The majority of us in Bombsquad live in and around Arlington, and the Tx. Baked guys are more in the Ft. Worth/Aledo area. They are all really cool people and are crazy good skaters. We have a lot of fun when we hit up anything.

There is also the more casual crew, with the main members being Mark and Edwin from Texas Longboards - Longboard Skateboard Store

Their groups range in age from 16-46 years old. Any given day they could have a crew of 20 people out terrorizing the streets of dallas or denton, or just about anywhere else. I skate with mark a lot in dallas on the Katy Trail, just pushing around. its a good workout and is a lot of fun if you can get a large group of people to go!

Also if you ever need anything longboard related, dont go to a zumies or a mall shop. get it from mark and edwin at Texas Longboards - Longboard Skateboard Store. they have most of the essentials like trucks, wheels, bearings, hardware, pads, etc. plus carry a good selection of decks. Mark has inventory in Dallas and Edwin has inventory in Denton, so local pickup is convienient. Support the local guy.

also, they just put in their order to get Rayne skateboards, and they should be arriving in the next few weeks. that is very exciting for me, being that they make all my favorite boards. They also carry, Landyachtz, Longboard Larry, and Loaded. (what is it with the "L" skate brands names)

here are a couple of pics of the two main downtown garages we do.

This one is "Mozart". Probably the fastest, gnarliest garage in downtown. 12 stories of fun. Its just a square for the most part with all of the ramps being downs. there are no flats at all, so you just keep accelerating the whole way down, unless you scrub some speed with your gloves or whatever else. Its definitely not a place i would recommend for someone new to garages. super fast and tight.

another of our favorites is the Star Parking garage. its at San Jacinto and Ross in Downtown. its got some pretty long ramps down, with a flat in the corner, then another down, etc... its pretty fast too, but not anywhere near as intense as Mozart.

There is a garage in Las Colinas that is absoluely perfect for people just starting out with garages. its 8 stories, you can choose to go toeside or heelside, and its got a long down, then flat around the corner and a flat straight, then turns back to the down and repeat.

another good garage is at I-75 and Caruth Haven, behind the Steak & Shake there. its pretty decent for new riders, but there is one catch. No elevators... its i think 9 or 10 stories, but you can stop at level 5 or soemthign if you dont want to walk all the way back up.

anyway, PM me with your number and ill let you know when we are gonna be skating. our crew skates about 5 days a week, sometimes more. A lot of days we just stay in the Arlington area, but probably 2-3 nights a week we head to dallas for some killer garages.

send me that PM and we'll get in touch. later buddy.
