Earlier tonight a few of us got together for a garage session in St. Paul at the Science Museum parking garage. We were only able to get in 2 runs though before an employee informed us that "skating in the ramp was against the rules" and we needed to leave. She said that the museum was open until 11:30 so I think that we would most likely be fine if we had a midnight session there.
We then headed over to the RiverCentre parking ramp to ride the spirals which was a great time. We got in 2 runs right away, but unfortunately on the 2nd run Ben had tried to jump a low chain that was blocking off an area, got caught up in it, and ate it. He twisted his finger when he hit the ground and it was giving him a little pain, but nothing bad so we went up again. At the top we had security tell us over a little intercom that skating wasn't allowed... We decided that if they were too lazy to come out and actually tell us we couldn't skate we would just continue, so we went down again. When we got to the bottom Ben said that his finger was giving him some real pain so we decided to head over to St. Joseph's hospital. Luckly Soo knew the way and had us there in just a few minutes.
When we got there Ben went in and we waited outside. It started to drizzle and we waited some more... Then it started to rain and we went inside, we talked gear and possible meet sites to pass the time. About an hour later Ben came out, arm in a sling, hand all wrapped up... Fractured third metacarpal.
We then headed out to the wet streets busting out sides down the middle of the wet roads. As we got back to the museum it started to pour and Soo and Alex dipped out. Wyatt, Ben, my friend John, my sister Jenni, and I headed over to Chestnut Street where we had parked and did some rain sliding for a while. Wyatt got some pretty cool pictures and videos on his camera. Hope fully he'll post them later today. All in all a good session (except for Ben breaking his hand of course).
