I second that. It's really easy to make your own sliding gloves, and cheap. I always thought it would be some daunting task, but its really quite simple.
Longboard Sliding Gloves This helped me make my own gloves, though I'm sure theres a quality thread about it on the 'Fish. You can also spend more money on pucks, since you saved on gloves. Also, go to Home Depot and you can score some free corian to use as pucks.
