(vents also I believe) With the larger than standard (zigzag, hot spots) cores the vents ride harder then they stated duro, which translates into a small gain in speed. Zak said that they loose their grip too fast. (they wear, round out the edges too soon) The hard side to side edge pumping on a COSS course (steep and deep) causing the wheels to skitch or break loose sooner than say a zig zag. Note: Running the same hybrid course and comparing the zig zag and black ops wheels.

Now all of these guys are pros and tend to ride crazy fast and practice hours a week. Your actual mileage and wear may be different. Consult a pro near you.
