Default Re: Help on a commuting board

Timeline sounds like a good campus cruiser to me. As for what Enemy said, I think it just depends on your riding style and the terrain you have to deal with. Need to hit a lot of level changes like curbs? Get a board with a kicktail, otherwise this should be fine.

Trucks and wheels: I personally don't think these trucks and wheels would be a good match for this board and the uses you want it for. If you are set on the fasttracks, make sure you get the 150s and NOT the 180s, they will be too wide. The inheats I think are too big for a campus cruiser. I reckon slightly smaller wheels are better in that kind of situation because of the fast acceleration you can get as you may have to be changing speeds a bunch what with all the people about. It will also make it easier to pump which is fun!

So, my recommendation to you sir.

Indy 149s or 169s OR Randal 150s
The indys will be lower for easier pushing and turn better at lower speeds.
The Randals will be more stable going fast but will be higher for pushing.

and Zig Zag Lime 80a 70mm wheels OR Orangatang 4president
Fast, grippy and fun, just pick your favourite colour!

I run a fairly similar setup to this as my Town/Campus ripper, it's a Loaded Pintail with Lemon Zig Zags 70mm and Randal 150s, absolutely epic for pumping around and getting places FAST.
