My Rand Mcnally Road Atlas says Vancouver to SD is 1408 miles by I-5. Longer if you take the Coast Highways 101 & 1 (which will have less traffic and tons of state campgrounds and other places to sleep) or US 99 which will have hundreds of small towns and go through
really hot geography.
By your schedule that's over 100 miles per day; which is not possible. Perhaps you need to do this in stages over multiple summers.
