I prefer the longboard as it's more practical - you don't need a hill necessarily to ride it and it's much easier to push on flats.
The Freebord is very cool for what it is and it's kinda snowboardy if that's what you're looking for

Freebords require a steep hill to get you going very fast. It's fun if you have the right terrain for it (mountains)...
Freebording = 10% riding, 90% walking back up the hill
