Before
Concrete Wave, there was
International Longboarder. From 1999 to 2002, this magazine was the touchstone for a blooming sport and lifestyle.
Published by a partnership that included Michael Brooke,
Int'l. Longboarder met an untimely demise that was only healed by the creation of Concrete Wave. Old issues of the magazine have been very hard to come by, not only because circulation was light but because skaters won't give 'em up. They give glimpses and insight to earlier times in our sport, not to mention interviews and profiles of skaters like Henry Hester, Ellen O'Neill, Ed Economy, Chris Chaput.
Silverfish Longboarding acquired a set of the originals and subjected them to a hi-res scanner. We've got the entire collection, available for download,
here.
Unlike most content here on the 'Fish, these aren't free. Each issue bears a fair price to offset our costs to create and maintain these for you.
UPDATE, 2008: They're totally FREE now. F R E E, baby!
