Re: Abec 11 Updates
I think the taller Fyre Reflex barrels may be part of the reason there was a problem with the initial run of Fyre trucks. I had a specifically different issue to most, one of the C clips holding the sphericals in situ, (the front post one) kept popping out, either while being ridden or more often when tightening the trucks up on the posts. The bushing under the truck was basically acting as a fulcrum and levering out the spherical. It didn't matter what order i tightened up the truck, it was always the same story. This led me to remove the lower bushing, and voila no pop outs. I then chose to use a standard size Reflex bushing with the same result. I think possibly this could also be part of the reason why axles were bending, a transfer of force from the fulcrum (kingpin) and holding pins thru' the axles. I have also noticed the trucks are more fluid using the shorter Reflex bushings and are more responsive, the bigger bushings were maybe restricting the trucks pivot, therefore increasing other forces. I am no scientist but I think this makes sense.
