ya, they defiantly are... sorry i guess i misunderstood you... it seems that the only differance is the slalom trucks have the axle hole machined in, and the downhill trucks are welded in, unless he ever makes these

The photos of the narrow, slalom-type Fyre trucks were from the original R&D that Mr. Chaput did developing Fyre's.

just saying it would be awesome to see a full cnc'd truck, nothing against the structural integrity of the welds, they definatly are strong enough, but ALL cnc defiantly look better

and with a full CNC you can use 7075 AL, and that normally is not welded do to the amount of Magnesium added to it... using this the truck could be made lighter and stronger

and ALL cnc before this are basically exactly the same. who cares what it looks like? i care how it performs. these are the first cnc trucks I have seen that are truly DIFFERENT. sphericals or not, all other cnc's are basically precision randals. sure you can argue better bushing seats, stronger materials, wider axles, different angles, inline axles, whatever, but when it comes down to it, there is nothing truly remarkable or new about them other than their price

i see these as something revolutionary. never before done. that is worth $400 to me anyday

    *hint hint*

I'd bet my unborn that the price will go up before too long. Setting the price low in the beginning will get more people on them, which will allow for more people to talk about how awesome they are, which will make more people want to buy them. Price goes up and he starts bringing in some serious cash or just getting a healthy ROI. Genious marketing, really. What I'm trying to say is buy them soon if you're considering, otherwise save up another $100 or so and buy them down the road. I don't work for Chris or know anything about what goes on with Sk8Trip, I'm just speculating. If I wasn't paying off my credit card and struggling to make rent, I'd be scraping together some pennies for these trucks. I think they're revolutionary and a welcomed change.

Hey Chris *ahem* I mean Mr. Chaput, do you need a brand manager by any chance?? I mean, you must need a little help with all the different brands you've got under your belt!!

Chris, I recently started looking for precision trucks for my Godspeed Justice Foamcore and wasn't impressed with anything I was seeing, especially for the price. But 184mm Fyres sound like a match made in heaven.

well it costs about $20 for the spherical bearings alone ($40 if they are stainless), and if he is doing Titanium axles like he is saying, that is a CHUNK of change....

to machine Titanium also adds a lot of cost due to time, cutter wear, and much more pricey Carbide threading tools and cutters...

ya, i could defiantly see a $100 price increase... Hey as long as base plates are cheap enough, who cares... 2 hangers, 8 baseplates... lol

Will there be an option to opt out of titanium axles for a little less money.
We could buy our own yes?

    All Speculation Post:

I figure the price would drop 50$ per truck if standard precision steel (or whatever else but titanium) axles were used. These seem to be a lot more versatile than maguns and according to the theory behind the function they seem to be relatively wobble free, so the price as is, is pretty damn solid.

So now this all begs the question: A few years down the road, will this design be made in the form of a standard cast truck?

the weightbearing side of the axles are cnced the welds are there to ensure a good fit and a strong hold on the axle

    also whatever happene to:

I would think doing an axle system like The BEAR SMOKEY truck would be more practical from a machining standpoint... Axles could be changed if bent, and could be thicker the whole length except the bearing seat... also, then consumers could choose Ti, or mild steel for the axles....
