Re: Abec 11 Updates
Mischo uses 25* fyre baseplates, so chris was referring to the overall truck angles.
25+15, 25-15 = 40/10

The DH version of the Fyre Truck hangers are coming in at 159mm, 171mm, and 184mm, and use split hanger tubes to allow larger bushings. All Fyre trucks feature titanium axles. The Slalom version's hanger widths are TBD.
Mischo used a 40 degree front and a 10 degree back baseplate angle at Vernon where he banged out the top qualifying spot as well as the victory. The taller than usual bushings allow for deeper carves and because the truck doesn't stop turning, the outside wheels track instead of wanting to lift.
Even when just standing on Mischo's board in the pits, riders were commenting on how different the feel of the trucks when compared to their own where the bottom bushing and kingpin is taking on so much of the load.
The Reflex-Fyre-Biltin-Centrax combo is the sickest racing setup ever.
You're such a tease....
From your comments, it sounds like the DH version of the Fyre's will come out first?
I started saving my $ for some slalom Fyre's a couple of years ago. Of course I gave up and bought other slalom trucks before the Fyre's came out.
I'm going to ask the same question everyone else has: Do you have any estimates on price point for the Fyre's? (Are all of the other precison truck companies going to have to lower their prices?)

The Slalom version would come out just on the heels of the DH version. Perhaps both within a month if I can get off the computer and make it happen!
Yes, An Evo adds about 15 degree of steering to the front and takes away about 15 degrees in the back. A 25 degree baseplate on both the front and back of an Evo makes for effective angles of 40 and 10 respectively. We're going to produce baseplates with 10 degree increments with a spiffy 5 degree hanger tweak to get anything that you'd want at 5 degree increments.

Centrax is lighter and I don't think the momo is centre set.

centrax has a different shape than momo and a different core, it looks like. look at the profiles...chaput posted this a few pages back.

centrax = center set + traction. double lips for double grips. a DH/Race wheel for sure. i doubt youll EVER be able to slide these puppies.
and since they're HUGE (77mm, 83mm) I dont think slalomers would want them.

Centrax's would have a use in slalom. Depends on the course and the rider, but I know of at least one pro who has used momos in a GS race. I think the 75mm centrax's would have lots of slalom uses in GS / Super G courses.

OK, so did everyone read this? No more questions for the Mad Scientist, and Fryre's will be out within a month.
(Yeah right, like we'll actually be able to stop asking questions.......)
