I love your Fyre trucks, great design, I only wish I came up with the idea first.

I mean, there are a good amount of moving parts on there. Is it a pain to clean those bearings and stuff?

edit - So does the same thing about cup washers apply to these trucks? Flip the cup washer or go buy a flat stainless steel washer from the hardware store?

I believe that when you're at a race with ANY truck and something breaks or bends, you'd be SOL if you didn't bring any spares. Perhaps the next generation of Fyre Trucks will be more like cyborgs in that they automatically re-generate new limbs when amputated or fabricate a new smile when a shotgun blasts them in the face. That might raise the cost a bit though ...

I'm not sure if I want my trucks asking if I'm Sarah Connor...

In a word, no. There really aren't all that many parts, and none of them are hard to clean. You never have to take the spherical bearings out. It's just a ball in a race. Spray or wipe them down with your favorite cleaner, lube 'em up and put them back together. It only takes a few seconds to take the truck apart with a standard skate key or wrenches. I took off the locknuts, bushings, and cup washers in the photo below, and you can see for yourself how simple it is. There really aren't any more moving parts than on a regular truck.

Look at it like this: The "spheres" in the bearings become fastened to the baseplate's pivot pins and none of those parts move at all. The races are fixed into the hanger and essentially become one piece. Just like a regular truck, there is a hanger that moves relative to the baseplate. Note that I rotated the sphere of the bottom bearing so that you can see it's just a chopped ball with a hole in it ...

I'm assuming the titanium axles can handle 90mm flys, no problem?

Chris: For the current contest ABEC11 is holding, you should include a truck maintenance sheet of some sort for the winner of the complete so the rider can have their trucks in top performance.

a dozer would be getting 100 sets. 10 sets just getting thrown into a drawer, 50 sets for household appliances, 5 sets in his glovebox, 34 under his bed, and 1 set just to ride.

all this just to piss people off

It's going to be so hard not buying these trucks. I love stuff that rides extremely differently than anything on the market.

At maryhill I stood on these trucks at maryhill. They were one of the best feeling trucks I have felt, I could tell they would be stable and also turny. I can only wait until there out.

No axle is unbendable, but these are very strong. I HIGHLY recommend the use of Biltin Bearings when using tall wheels. The inner rings are made of solid steel and are strong and straight. When tightened down it's like having 12mm axles past the end of the hanger. Tightening the locknuts down literally puts the entire system under tension and will help resist bending an axle. And let's face it, 70.23 mph isn't exactly slow either ...

would biltins with rubber shields or 10mm biltins ever be out of the question?

Just curious, are the hangers heat-treated after they're welded?
