    Default new: HELP!

Firstly, I cannot even figure out how to post a new thread anywhere but at anything goes on this site... so if anyone can help me out with that, swell!

Secondly, I want to buy my very first long board, and was wondering... where to start!? I have small experience with skateboarding, but am very much a beginner. I am also a very tiny person, 5'4" 115lbs, I hear it's good to chose smaller boards for smaller people? This is what I am interested in:

    - user friendly (ie beginner friends)
    - cruising (not so much crazy downhill stuff)
    -turns easy
    -takes bumps like its nothin'!

I was told sector 9 was the best brand... then I was told loaded was... actually I have been told many contradictions, but I suppose it boils down to personal acquired taste. I liked the loaded board I tried... anyway any help would be much appreciated! Thanks!

the best way to find out which board is right for you is to rub your johnson on it.

It all depends on what you want to use it for. Do you want a kick tail? How about flex? Concave (I assume so)? How "small" is small for you? Do you want a drop through/deck? Do you want to slide? How fast do you plan on going?
Without knowing any of the answers, I'd suggest an Earthwing Widerglider. It's a pretty versatile board.

Why can't you post in the proper forum?
The sage, Longboard Buddha once said, "A tree spends 100% of its lifetime in a static environment and only after its reincarnation as a deck is it allowed to move at fast speeds...
when allowed, the wood will give thankless service if
    allowed to flow."

    mmmkay...

kick tail- handy for getting over bigger bumps, but not completely necessary...
concave- yes, I think that would make it easier to turn, yes?
size- bigger than a skateboard for sure. But not massive, somewhere around lower than 40" range...
drop through- makes it lower to the ground right? so i definitely want something quite low, but i think id prefer it not to be drop down. although i dont have a personal preference, as i dont actually know the difference in how it feels yet.
    finally not too fast!

I forgot all those crucial details! excuse me im new...

You just described a Kracked Skulls Scimitar with Abec11 Gumballs. Well, almost, but still, it's a great board. Check it out.
2010 Insane Asylum III figure - Veloz V5 trucks, 80a IA wheels
    46" Oak deck - no trucks wheels right now. ( :'( )
38" Campus board made from snowboard - Randal 180's, 70mm ebay wheels, crappy bushings. Still shreds like a blender.

    hehe, totally true.

the scimitar is a sweet board, i rode it once and loved it. there's a giant selection of board similar to that one. check out the review section and maybe the classifieds, never know if you'll find your dream board there. i did and i love my 36" legendary demon

Thanks for all your help guys!

especially the fuzz... I actually tried that method downtown the other day... and the fuzz dragged me outta the store and arrested me: something about "indecent exposure". When I told the fuzz that the fuzz made me do it, they just beat me with their night sticks! Jealous bastartds.

Anyways, im shopping for my board tomorrow, super excited, especially now that i have some direction. thanks again!
