Do I answer to this?
Oh yeah screw that I do...
I'll try to be realistic and get rid of this sarcasm I have when I speak about this subject
"French dont like americans": not wrong... not true either
As a whole, american are considered to be annoying by most countries in the world, probably due to the fact that they try to rule everything, putting their nose in the internal affairs of lots of countries... Not only french have this opinion.
Now concerning the french/american relationship, this attitude you just had here, is the typical thing french can't stand about american. I don't think you have any idea how french are thankful to the Us for coming at this period and time to liberate France... Now because the US did that, some americans believe Europe should shut its mouth and is not "morally allowed" to criticize any thing the US are doing after that. Well, no. It doesn't work that way. We dont agree about Irak, we dont agree about guns, we dont agree on Kyoto, we dont see patriotism as the US see it...etc etc... tons of subject that get locked in here.
Also I would like to know when was the last time you went to France or Europe in general, and what makes you say "French don't like americans" other that what you see on Fox News or "what is said" around TX?
EDIT: Last thing... "After all WE did for France, they hate us". Other kind of sentence that tend to make us mad... Certain americans, with these kind of sentences, tend to easily take credit for what their fathers did... So to make things clear... "YOU" were not on Omaha Beach, neither was I... I am not my grand father and neither are you (this is not written to anyone in particular... it's just a sentence I have read and heard too often)

French armored and air forces were in the western desert on the left flank of the invasion forces during the first Iraq war.
The French military was gearing up to help us again in the second Iraq war until the French correctly ascertained that there were no "weapons of mass destruction" and Saddam and the Iraqis had absolutely nothing to do with the attacks on 9/11.

So.. what is it you've done that makes anyone think your opinion is truth and factual?
Most all I ever hear you say are bigoted and prejudiced towards anyone that doesn't see things the way you do..no matter the subject.. Hmm seems hypocritical to me..
but that's just my opinion, not to be confused as gospel
At any rate... cheers to all the allied forces on this day in history, where an evil man's power began to truly fail, and the imprisoned people all over Europe were given a boost to regain their freedom.
Wait.... the Alamo was operated by the French?

Re: Today is a special day for the French
[QUOTE=*SWEET*;1297560670]Well, when revzack said, french don't like the US, I truly beleive he is misleaded. And yes, I do believe he is wrong and I think I am right... Why? coz I'm pretty sure he never put a foot in France, and that he just repeats what he hears and what some says about this particular subject. Damn... I'm even think he never even met a french!
And as I said, I think I'm right... I THINK I'm right.
Now if you think differently, let me know your opinion and I will answer and try to understand your way of thinking and seing things.
So if you also believe french are some ungrateful anti-american idiots, let me know why you think that way and I will try to answer smthg to that...
My point.. kinda,. People will be people wherever you go.. So, there you are.
My point is to honor all, that aided freeing Europe on this day that huge sacrifices were made

Xmas 06 Netherlands with friends.
When was I last in Europe, when were you? Xmas 07 with friends, I was in Paris, met up and bought a board from Fred, one of the slalom guys there. Then we went to Prague, then Amsterdam and The Hague, Hung out with Basch for a day.
Xmas 08 with girlfriend, went to Turkey, the European side, the back to Prague.
April 09 with girlfriend, went to Holland, 3 days in Den Haag and 4 days in Amsterdam.
Wanna see the stamps?? Oh I think there are several from Mexico too. I travel for fun quite a bit.
By far, the rudest people I had to deal with were in Paris. I got yelled at for asking a cab for a ride, and for accidentally getting in the wrong line in a store when they gave me the wrong product and I tried to return it. That is what comes off the top of my head. There were more examples. I just found the people to be rude. The people of Turkey were awesome, while the people of Czech and the Netherlands were more stern, but more of a translation thing vs. out and out rude. I am not talking out of my ass thank you very much I have been there and experienced it. I am a nice to everyone I meet. When I am on vacation spending cash in someone elses economy, I expect them to be somewhat friendly, or I will spend it somewhere else.

Une petite plaisanterie! My first girl was a Parisienne. I've lived there. I love France and all the strange people who inhabit it. So don't get votre panties in le bunch. SVP.

Re: Today is a special day for the French
Lets just put it this way. If we hadnt saved the french theyd be speaking german. if they hadnt saved us we'd be speaking proper english like the brits or some ####### indian language so they have saved us as well. And if you want a historian output on it ill do it =)
Cant we all just get a longboard?
