Theme: Rainbows

Both artists will submit their work and the Silverfish community will decide who is ULTIMATE ARTIST!

The actual means by which the ultimate artist is found is greatly flawed. Firstly, the simple fact that someone can draw something, does not make them a good artist or an artist at all for that matter. The theme "rainbows" is a vague, stupid subject matter with little relevance to depth of artistic thinking. If you want to present a theme it needs to be an emotion or something else subjective enough to allow for the artist to make it their own but also focused enough for the different works to have some unifying factor.

Secondly, criticism from the point of view of someone who isn't versed in critique language, artistic quality, the elements of color and composition is a two way road with little to offer in between the destinations....

Thirdly, and probably the most important, placing a forced measure on any artist at all and telling them what they need to create is detrimental. The work that is created under any deadline and any restriction will not be nearly as good as work from an artist who gets to make what they want when they want to make it.

There is a ton of undiscovered talent on this site, you should never limit your pool based on a couple heavy hitters. You pass over diamonds that way.

why should any artist do competitive art? art isnt sport.
why should you call out two artists and challenge them to prove themselves to SF? Who the **** is silverfish to judge any artists? We are a bunch of skateboarders. besides art critics suck

Styles are too different to be judged against one another tho, IMHO.
