You spelled Volkswagen wrong...
I have a '66 bug, but I'm selling it to get an '89 golf.
What year is your GTI? What engine?

Re: Volkswagons!!!
88 VW cabby, blown motor, pulled it out yesterday, putting in either a aba 2.0, 1.8t, or 16v. All three motors i have found locally, just deciding how much work and money we want to put into it. leainging towards the 16v so far.
only drove it less then 70km before the motor completely blew up. suing the guy with false advertisement, i got sales records from autoshops that are VERY different then what he told me and advertised. At the same time however, im very glad the car broke down after I bough it.... ####### idiot had NO nut holding on the tie-rod, could of very easily killed myself or hurt someone.
looking to buy another mk1 rabbit next spring for my own, complete low beater, with the 1.8 i pulled out of this car with a turbo setup. just a for shits and giggles way to low of a car.

Stay away from the 1.8T, and the 16v is alright, but an ABA will last forever!

Re: Volkswagons!!!
I had an '82 Westfalia, I was saving up to put in a TDI.
Engine went kaput, and financially I was better off just getting another car.
Despite it being the slowest thing on four wheels, I loved that van.
I'll get another one someday, preferably a Syncro.

Re: Volkswagons!!!
My 1st car!! 1991 Volkswagen Golf Mk2 Special 1.3 55 hp. Had a blast. Loved it, still miss it. Bulletproof, toured Europe with it even when the car had like 12 years. That last time it was 5000 miles in two weeks. Only thing you had to do was pump gas in it.

(not my actual car, same model)

Re: Volkswagons!!!
Currently I own 81vw rabbit cabriolet which is broken down in the driveway, and my daily driver is a beat to #### 71 vw bus. I sold within the last year a 65 vw bus(wish I hadnt sold it) and a 63 vw bug. Bombsquad that is a sick bug man. Does it have dual webers and what size engine. I ran mine with an 1835 and dual webers and it ran like crap in the cold. Sweet cars, put a big motor and go really fast.

Funny, I was just thinking today how much I'd love a Jetta. I used to drive my parents Rabbit around then I wrecked it...

Re: Volkswagons!!!
I want a combi van, or a baja beetle, or a Karmann Ghia. Or a Thing. Yeah. Or an old volvo. I feel like it's time for a switch-up from the old SAAB. Someday I will be able to buy a new car... maybe.
