Coyotes are pushovers. Last year my neighbors two golden retrievers got killed by a mountain lion that came into his house looking for food.

    Fun stuff.

Any animal that can vanish the way a coyote can is no pushover--simply from the surprise attack factor. Add the pack attack and you have
    a non-trivial threat.

Personally, I'm pretty sure I could take two coyotes down. But I'm also not a 19 year old female folk singer.

I am also pretty sure I could hand two non-feral golden retrievers--if they were in my house anyway. A cougar in the home would require a bit of luck.
A cougar in the wild and I'm pretty sure I'm screwed...as are 19 year old male folk singers when cornered by one in a bar.
