So I watched the remake of "V" on tv tonight. V the alien movie no V for Vendetta, just to clarify.
So it was like watching an updated Cliff Notes version of the original mini series from the 80's until all of a sudden it became "They Live." All that was missing was the sunglasses and the gratuitous fist fight in the alley over putting on the sun glasses.
I grew up watching V back in the day and I LOVE They Live. Blending the two is not a bad idea......and yet after the show was over I just felt ripped off. So far the 80's V was superior as far as scripting goes. I just watched the mini series this weekend so it is fresh in my head. Yes it is still cheesy but it was better paced than the pilot of the new V tonight.
It was just the pilot so I'll see if it gets better. Maybe Rowdy Roddy Piper will be in the next issue.
AND what the hell is up with the devotion references???
Now I have to go dig out a copy of "They Live" and watch that again.

Haha, wow. I've never seen this happen before, but "V". Unfortunate that he got the post off a minute before you did, lol. Must be a good show if this just happened
Edit: Cool my post got moved into this thread. I don't know why because it's not all that relevant, but cool anyways...

I love how it became "They Live". Other than that I thought it was a total Cliff Notes rehash of the original mini series. It was rushed as far as story, plot and all that went. There was no sense of the passage of time and except for the Army/National Gaurd are the FBI the absence of the Government was odd. No Presidential address or anything. All of a sudden (it felt like later that same day or maybe the next day) they were letting people fly up to the visitors ship. I just watched the original 80's mini series again this past weekend. It, so far, was better. But this was just the pilot episode. Hopefully they will slow it down and let the story unfold at a better pace. Or they could just let it turn into "They Live" the series and I'd be happy. Maybe they'll let Rowdy Roddy Piper on the show.

I'm looking forward to the Prisoner when it comes on. I have only seen only parts of a few episodes of the original series. I think it should be good television.

I've always found serious tv shows to be a waste of time and to drag on far too long.
Any of these series's could be made into a good movie, but the tv show is not worth my time.
Shows that make me laugh, on the other hand, are awesome. 30 rock and Arrested Development FTW.
