Another reason why baseball is so much less of a team sport than any other sport. Matsui ran the entire game; without him they would have lost. Baseball is the one sport where extra fat is detrimental to play, yet many players can get away with it at a professional level. Examples: Matty Stairs, David Ortiz, CC Sabathia, Kenny Powers. A team with a good pitcher and a good hitter and a bunch of 4-year-olds can beat the Yankees. Not likely, but it's possible. Other than that, the Yankees haven't won in 9 years, and although I hate them with a passion, it's about time they won again. Congrats to all you Yankees fans wasting 180 bucks on going to see a garbage sport at its finest. Football > Baseball. Go Patriots!

haha I like how everyone who knows nothing about the game are the first to judge it. If it weren't for the guys getting on base, matsui would have only had 1 RBI. Of course it's a team sport. If you disagree then whatever, I just made this thread to celebrate, not be bombarded with haters.

ya...in baseball we play in the sunshine only, if its anymore than a sprinkle then the game is postponed. outside of the infield you dont see much action/physical activity. sure every once in a while the left fielder will have to run 100ft, but most of the time its a light jog over to catch a pop fly. the most active players in baseball are pitchers, catchers, 1st & 2nd base and shortstop, thats 5 out of the total 9 on the field, just over half...kinda sad.


it is seen as a "real" sport but cmon, getting paid MILLIONS to stand around and play one in every 4 games is a joke.

real sports - HOCKEY, lacrosse, football, basket ball. all of these revolve around the basic idea that a sport is active and requires exercise and basic fitness.

**i am speaking strictly about team sports here, included in the "sports" section is skating, running, boxing, etc...**

I've been to games where there have been downpours, and the game still went on for at least a couple innings that way. Besides, I think hitting is probably one of the hardest things to do out of all the sports.

You're kidding right? If you think about it, baseball's one of the hardest sports to play. Try making contact with a bat at a ball coming 95mph right at you. I highly doubt you can do that. You need A LOT of skills for baseball, throwing power, accuracy, stamina, speed, hitting contact, and so much more. Football's one of the easiest sports to play. Catch a ball and run. Throw a ball and run. Baseball's waaaay more to that.
