vlc media player. greatest player i've ever found. opens any kind of file, even the ones that things like windows media player can't. for listening to music, as long as you know where your music files are, you can make playlists etc. only thing im not sure of is if it can open itunes files. I avoid itunes at all costs so im not sure on that one. check it out sometime.

iTunes should not be spewing ads. It has never in the past and I don't see why it would now. Then again, I don't use the radio stations.

I do, however, get popups and ads all the time online that talk to me non-stop. Most of those are through the browser, and half the time are hard to find or hidden.

I've also gotten some weird things with viruses/spyware so... yeah.

VLC is great for videos.
