Re: Put this browser compatability statement on the bottom of this forum
Ehh.... Any Windows user that deletes IE will suffer from great system failures.
I personally prefer 'links -g', though I'm often in X and I benefit from Firefox.
Firefox3 gave me issues when it was first released. Images that exceeded the screen width would appear black because FF3 had issues with the Linux drivers for the ATI Radeon 9100 Mobile. I had to recompile freetype with sub-pixel rendering and bytecode interpreting. That came with an entire new set of issues in which I had to compile system-wide utf-8 support, enable XAA interlacing and had to swap to 100dpi from 96dpi, which wasn't easy because wide-screen settings in my xorg.conf just wouldn't take because of permission errors. I actually had to write a script in my /etc/rc.d/ to call up what dpi to use and had to be ran before a certain chain of scripts executing on start up. I had to sift through my all the call-up scripts in rc.S and so on until I find the code that handles the default setting. I thought it would just be in the startx script and friends, but it wasn't.
Talking about a fecking headache just to look at some porn.
