First U.S. marijuana cafe opens in Portland

PORTLAND, Oregon (Reuters) - The United States' first marijuana cafe
opened on Friday, posing an early test of the Obama administration's
move to relax pol...icing of medical use of the drug.

The Cannabis Cafe in Portland, Oregon, is the first to give
certified medical marijuana users a place to get hold of the drug and
smoke it -- as long as they are out of public view -- despite a federal
ban.

"This club represents personal freedom, finally, for our members,"
said Madeline Martinez, Oregon's executive director of NORML, a group
pushing for marijuana legalization.

"Our plans go beyond serving food and marijuana," said Martinez. "We
hope to have classes, seminars, even a Cannabis Community College,
based here to help people learn about growing and other uses for
cannabis."

I know it's pretty much legal in a quarter of the country but sitting here in Virginia where it's still illegal, Kinda sucks... I'd like to see some stickier, danker, more organic fresh homegrown perfectly cured to perfection, cheap, plentiful and nourishing.

Keystone heights aint exactly the boonies, but it may be small enough to be dry of pot.

I'm 12 miles from the nearest not-so-convenient store. 2.5 miles to the nearest paved road. Keytone Heights is a big area, the town is tiny. It has one grocery store. I'm 17 miles from town. Might not be as bad as some places, but I'm in the boon docks for sure. We even have gators in the swamp 300 feet away from our property.

EDIT: Most of those roads you see are dirt roads.

Swampy area. All my crops die by the flooding or creatures snatching them. We had 30 plants wash away last year. All the indoor plants we've grown died from fungi because of the humid air. Tired many "remedies." I just don't have a green thumb... Plus, in the summer, we get the weed eaters overhead scouting for crops.

I forgot the leading factor. The soil here is gray, dry sand. Gardens fail hardcore here.
