Very very few things make me angry, but more than once did my blood start to pump faster. The guy being shot in the train station, and the guy asking for complaint forms hit some nerves.

so messed up,i was walking down 42 st nyc one night about 2am.
next thing i know i was slammed into a wall,thought i was being mugged.
when i heard,did you just buy drugs,i said no.
i was then forcefully turned around and smacked,turned around again with a arm against the back of my neck.
i was then told i am gonna search you spread em.
was searched ,nothing found and was thrown on the ground and told just get out of here.
nyc finest at work.
what is funny is one of my best friends growing up is now a nyc cop.
we smoked every day together,ate acid,traveled on dead tour,and all kinds of other illegal activities.
i saw him at a wedding after 10 yrs of not speaking and said how the hell did you bcome a cop.
he said i took the test as a joke and they called me, i answered all these question honestly about my drug use and they figured i would be good at spotting dealers and users on the street.
those videos are sickening.

Cops steal crops and that's a big enough reason for me to hate them right there. I got dial up so I'm not gonna bother with the videos... But from the impressions of others, I can only assume it's police brutality... and... I've seen enough friends in cuffs....

well, i meant the coverage of police. granted theres always things like "Cops" and the like, but its only one angle. hell ive had CHP give me a lift so i didnt have to hitchhike at after midnight. its things like that, cops going out of their way to do what theyre sworn to do. protect & serve. the power trip assholes are the only ones that seem to get any mass attention which brings down the name, idea, and general feeling twords em and i think thats fucked up.

Just because its presented as a documentary doesn't mean its the truth.

I don't deny that things like this do happen and I know this does sound naive but when watching these sort of dramatised 'documentaries' you have to take it with a grain of salt.

It is quite obvious they have used editing techniques to emphasise the point and to invoke the emotion of the viewer. In the segment around 17:00 - 27:30, they have edited the sequence of the interviews with the officers and a prime example of how they have attempted to use emotion to present their point is the shot of what you can only assume to be the mans father crying with the audio of the officer saying "The blood really bothered me.... He has to be stopped.... I can't let him touch me". One thing I have learnt is that in documentary filmmaking, when the filmmaker is unable to present the topic based on factual information they often attempt to appeal to the viewers emotion, and that is when bias can really come out

Wow. Now I understand why americans always bitch about the police. Cops here in Finland are fine. They can't solve a crime, if they don't have the luck being there when it happens, but atleast they aren't beating the living #### out of us. Yet.

That said... I won't let cops in my house. Nor do I engage them in conversation any longer than I have to... and it really pisses me off
that about once a year they harass my father as he is walking to or from the store.

OP: Street gangs are merely a form of unauthorized local government. As is La Cosa Nostra, etc. But cops are not a street gang because
they are authorized. The enforcement arm of any government is necessarily violent--and that fact means it attracts people who might
otherwise be the ones enforcement came down on. So in a twisted way, the cops keeps some thugs from going to jail by employing them.

I try to comfort myself by thinking that while there may be many times they get rough without needing to, odds are, they will kick the ####
out of someone who actually deserves it. It's a small thread of hope... but I'll take what I can get.

I disagree, I think that even though their are some cops who aren't scumbags, they are the exception, not the rule.

Occasionally there is a freak incident like the videos below involving police. However, realistically the odds of that happening are VERY low. Stuff like this is overhyped. You're never going to hear about cops helping someone on the news even though it happens every day. However, a few times every year you see stuff like that because the media knows people eat this #### up.

It might not be the norm, but do you want to be the one on the receiving end of a taser or baton for no reason apparent to yourself?
