in 1993 I started djing the early raves in Toronto. After djing for a few months without a name that stuck I was at a guy named Chris Sheppards house playing a Sunday morning after-party. There was a guy there named Dr.Trance who was sitting watching me dj with my big purple sweater on and said..."hey look....it's Grimace".I figured it wouldn't stick much like the rest of my names at the time but the next friday night Chris had me on his radio show and introduced me as DeeJay Grimace. 12 years of djing raves later it's still sticking. I hated it for a while due to that fact I hate McDonalds but now I've grown to accept it.

My name is Nick, and due to my lack of creativity, I chose Nickel. When I typed it in, I hit the "l" before the "e". Now I'm stuck with a misspelled SN.

Hinter as in the german word for past, or beyond or something, mute, sort of self explanatory. Also a reference, mildly, to gibson's Wintermute. Originally Corpseinvalid per corpsegrinder, again from a gibson book. Had to change, crazy GF a few years back still haunts my aim SN. Hintermute on aim, hintermute here, hintermute on soulseek. In actual persona i usually go by bink because my last name is Rubink, but people from forums that i meet later always call me mute. I also dont really talk a lot. I would but conversations usually disinterest me unless they concern anime, longboarding, punk, indie, and out president being a turd.
I used to draw some comics, and I just made up a random name for the main character, and the some of the comics were kinda based on me so it became my pseudonym.

Now mysticmonkies derived from my OLD ASS MysticalMonkies@cs.com email address. But since AOL owned compuserve I couldnt very well get MysticalMonkies as an AIM sn so i shortened it to mysticmonkies.
When I was thinking up names I had a fascination with the old PC Gamer "Coconut Monkey" and then I thought itd be cool if monkies for mystical like him.
And there you have it. Yes I know I did that momento-backwards, but such is mango.
I first did the name about 8 years ago, changed it from ultracow, because I liked cows. Now I eat them. It's always stuck with me, and I use it all over the net. Some buttmunch has that hotmail account though. What a turd.
