    Default Inexpensive Hobbies?

What are some fun hobbies that you can pick up without spending to much money and do in any environment? Curious to find out what people can come up with... and please do not say: star gazing, hiking, rock collecting or bird watching; i've gotten these responses too many times already.

You don't always have to date...so I do also consider it as an inexpensive hobby.

Disc Golf, Frisbee Golf, whatever you want to call it, its a great thing to do when its too hot to skate. All the courses I know of are free, plus a good disc is only like 10 bucks
If your not skating for fun, what are you skating for?

My godlike powers are without limit, and I use them freely and capriciously. so back the FU#K AWAY!!

Try this on for size... (Try the basic, 1 gallon for starters).

Also, kite flying... It requires some outdoor space (or, with indoor kites, a gymnasium)... but it can be very "zen."

Both relatively cheap to get started with, and easy to do almost anywhere.

Do some whittling/woodworking/toy building. I've made a few automata that are pretty fun, figuring out gear timing, carving the gears, putting everything neatly together.
    Examples here
