Former Pro resorts to eBay to survive.
What would it be like in a world without skate pros? Which of the big companies will step up and help this dude out in his hour of need?

He's even got his own Rolls Rolls. What more could a potential sponsor ask for?

Kahuna has some style. Opening bid seems a tad on the high side, but
he appears worthy of at least a Team Makaha sponsorship.

Description (revised) one old skater looking for sponsor.
Depends, Geritol, Viagra, and Welche's Prune juice all turned me down..... Been skating since 1961, when the z boys were still nursing. I wobble, buy I don't fall down . Still skate weekly, have most of my hair, and all of my teeth. Final payment/winner to include one way trip to Maui for me.So, young skate lads and lassies, bid away. Tell your grandkids you sponsored an old o.g. skate fart. Have references still alive!

Re: Former Pro resorts to eBay to survive.
FYI, the skater is Mike Allen, purveyor of the slalom and longboard scene in Temecula and Murrietta, California. He puts on events for the locals, helps them get down to 'Fish events in San Diego and keeps them excited about skating.

Re: Former Pro resorts to eBay to survive.
well you gotta hand it to the dudes that were skating around the 60's and still can stand on their board. i doubt that he soul grinds in 10ft deep pools or likes to race tight slalom but I can see that he still has the fever to show the ever evolving public that one can skateboard recreationally deep into the golden years!
And this is why I personally enjoy the skog... taking your skateboard for a jog. using both legs to push your board and feeling the 1 foot transition sensation whilst cruising at 8-10mph for miles and miles and switching to a pump to mix it up. i have a feeling i'll be doing it for ages to come!
Thanks SF for helping keep the skog alive and all the best to Murrieta Mike. He must be friends with Victor from Sector 9. Great dude to skate with!

Re: Former Pro resorts to eBay to survive.
Mike also reps rollsrolls in the US. I just bought yellow cruiser from him and had him grip it up checkered to look like an old NYC taxi. I'll post pics when I get it. He's very cool to deal with.
Now if only I had a 1/4mil sittin' around . . .

Re: Former Pro resorts to eBay to survive.
Bought my first yellow rolls from Mike years ago and have gone back and forth on other things ever since. One cool dude. Mike if you see this, promise I'll make it down to my cousin's place in Fallbrook some day and torment you in person!!
