There was an episode of up all night with Dave Attel in Louisiana, where he went in the back of a pickup truck with a rifle, and was shooting those things. They are pretty big animals!

yeah capy's are smarter than that, they just play dead for a little then make a run for it, you need atleast a 50cal to slow a capy down
EDIT: this is what a capy hunter really looks like

given the right recipe most anything can be quite apealing. sometimes you just have to imagine you are eating squab, that's all.

They look cool. Like a very knowing animal when I look in its eyes.
I would not eat the kidneys or liver for that matter of anything that eats its own feces.
Both kidney and liver should be eaten from young animals as these organs filter waste.

EBasil beat me to the feces-eating quotes. So instead I submit the following, perhaps as potential documentary film names:
Mr. Crappy's Capy
and
The Coprophagous Capybara
I refuse to answer that question on the grounds that I don't know the answer. - Douglas Adams

FYI Mr. Barrett aspired to be a porn director growing up. I think he made a good decision making high powered rifles instead.
