To skate on the world's fastest half mile? The Bristol Motor Speedway in Bristol, Tennesse. NASCAR week is starting this week and the rednecks are coming out of the woodworks. RVs and big rigs are coming. Tons of banners of 'Welcome Race Fans' are starting to be hung up everywhere!!! Traffic is going to be horrendous!!! But really, it would be so cool to skate on this. We go to the Speedway in Lights at Christmas and actually get to ride on the track. Your car is literally on a 45 degree angle. It's pretty cool though. I wonder how the track would ride on a longboard?

the track is 30ish degrees in the corners...but yes, it is the steepest banking on the NASCAR circuit

I live right by the worlds fastest dirt mile..... I go to as many as I can. All motor no brakes.

just thinking about track conditions for our wheels. i suppose it changes at different times of the day but i could very well be wrong.

Seems like it wouldn't be that expensive to start. OLd sportster 883 and some leathers and you are in business. The racers are very nice kinda like the slalom community very personable and down to earth. Everyone is invited into the pits after the race for autographs.

well as long as there is both its better..lemans racing they go almost as fast as nascar cars and actually have to make turns taking much more skill...rally racing is also 4000x better than nascar and takes so much more skill and is so much more exciting that you actually could watch for 4hours without wanting to gouge your eyes out

yeah i saw a few rolex series races at night and they rocked but you cant see the cars as good and it really is more boring..i love nascar though but yeah they dont smell as good...nothing like high octane exaust!!

Last year, someone was trying to sell some extra tickets at one of the restaurants in Bristol.. some guy asked him how much.. $350.00!!! per seat!! It's hard to get tickets I heard. We went to the Family Race night last year just to check it out, it was nothing but bumper to bumper of tables in downtown of sponsors.. Cheerios, Sharpie, Kleenix, Motorola, every type of sponsor out there.. and loads of people. You could hardly move!!! Just long ass lines of people getting autographs from the race drivers themselves. They started building condo units across from the track.. half of them are selling for like a quarter of a million. And they're nothing but apts in a high rise. Ridiculous. I find NASCAR boring. I can imagine it being so noisy there. But some people like it.

Umm as a former truck driver...I would like to point out that I am not a redneck. I tan quite nicely.

But Nascar annoys me. It's especially annoying if you are a truck driver and trying to pass through...
or worse...deliver in a town where Nascar is taking place. Of course, out there all those demo
derbies sometimes muck up traffic too...

Anyway, I was going to make an amusing comment about how the track would probably crush the longboard if you could find a way to lift it onto one...

Instead I will treat the question as it was intended to be treated...well, slightly less dignity.

I don't think it would work well at all. I think you would have a hell of a time staying on. Carving to the right would be nigh impossible unless you put Large diameter wheels on the left and small diameter on the right. And you would probably cone like nobodies business.

If the track were a bit smaller...or if you levelled the pit... you could probably work that pretty good.

At the UW the Athletic center has a huge parking lot that goes largely unused. It has lots of wavy rolling terrain and reasonably smooth pavement. Fun! Get about an acre of it to yourself in the middle of the afternoon. More if you go at midnight!
