The Nocturnal Thread: For those of us who don't sleep..

It seems like there is good amount of us who don't really sleep at night and spend time here on 'fish, well, not exclusively on 'fish.

I don't know about you, but I'm curious as to who each of you are.

This thread could be really stupid, but whatever.

I'll start by introducing myself.

I'm Chase, first year at UCSD, computer science major. I used to be a really good student in high school, I had a ridiculously high GPA, but it seems like I'm going to get placed on academic probation next quarter. Eh.. I don't know what happened. I'll manage to get out of it and make a decent living a couple of years from now. Maybe it will take more than just a couple of years, but eventually I'll get my act together and exploit the society and its people a bit and get my share of the pie. I don't know when did I start to not have a normal sleeping pattern. But I don't think I'm gonna ever have one ever again. Night time is just so sweet. The quietness, the tranquilness, the timelessness. Everything is serene; everybody is nice and harmless. Everywhere there is beauty. Nothing is tainted, nothing is stained. If only could the Sun never ever rise again; if only could any of us never ever see tomorrow..

Heh, I find it's the other way around for me. I was proxime accessit (2nd to dux) in primary school. In high school I completely bombed out cos I was always too lazy to study -- was very lucky to still get into the uni course I wanted. But now in uni I'm absolutely caning it with a D average across all subjects -- non-trivial in combined engineering/commerce, if I may say so myself

(that's D as in Distinction, not as in A/B/C/D

yeah man, compared to high school, my gpa has tanked (and ive been on AP once, but its not end of world.) welcome to college, all i can say is at least your not in denial.

i really dont sleep at night...last night i was up till 4 to 5 justchillin
on a school night i go to sleep at 2 or 3 and waks up at 6 but come home at around 4 and sleep till its dark.

its only one here but i know whre your coming from im a mechanical engineering student here and i used to bang out classes with a/b averages like it was no problem..now im probabaly going to be on academic probation too...

yea i was a pretty good student in hs, grades started dropping here, i think its only cuz im getting ridiculously lazy and spend all my time skating. life at night is so good, its quiet, no pesky people, can skate all across campus, then come back and spend till like 4 or 5 on fish. life is good

Anyways, i ####ed up my sleeping cycle about, 2 years ago.
I wake up around 4:30 in the afternoon, and i stay up till about 6:00 or 7:00 a.m.
Anyways, i mostly stay up all night watching TV, and messing around on The Fish.

4:30...damn man, you've wasted an entire day practically. I feel like I waste a whole day when I get up at noon.

PS: Why do I have a Chem. final Saturday morning at 8:00? WTF?
