Sort of, yeah. Apparently it was first attempted in the US, but it was abandoned in favor of carbon.

I haven't been able to dig up much info on it's mechanical qualities though
It's mostly used as fire / electromagnetic shields.
though they make pipes and chemical storage thingys too.

Well, the commie thing was a joke.
I had actually been looking in to it a few days ago, and I found a bit of info on it, not too much though. Not too sure why I was looking it up though, I have no board building skills.

Lots of people in this country buy old victorian houses, and then the weight of all the stuff in their bathrooms causes the creaky old floors to cave in, so I can see a bit of a need for lighter bathroom stuff. Plus chicks must totally dig it.

I gotta admit that at first, I thought the toilet was pretty lame, but it should be a lot easier to install than regular ones, just because they're so much lighter.

I gotta go with the OP. Making a video game controller out of CF is taking out what little exercise gamers were getting in by lifting and flinging those things around when they got pissed.

Y'all, a lot of that stuff is done in CF-look vinyl. You see it a lot on mid-90s Honda Civics.

Also, there's a very good reason CF is used in instruments: it's lighter and stronger than wood, leading to better vibration and better sound. There was an article in the New Yorker recently about the future of guitar building that featured CF and composite technologies: http://www.newyorker.com/reporting/2...fa_fact_bilger .
