Only Stoners Long Board

Recently I've have heard from a number of my friends who ride noraml boards that only stoners like to ride long boards, I myself smoke alittle here and there, but this got me to wonder. How many of you smoke and longboard or do both of them togeather.

I've been straight edge for almost 10 years now and so has they guy I ride with all the time. I use longboarding as an outlet to releave stress and forget about everything else for a while so I guess I don't need a substance to do it for me.

That's so true, nothing compares to go out by yourself in nice weather and just skating around and doing some mild downhill.

Yes Mark! The Teen Idles are amazing. I like all of those old Dischord bands and Ian was a genius. (although the straight edge ideals that are followed today really came from Ray Cappo and Youth of Today years later)

All of my longboarding friends are straight-edge, and we have a great time. Longboarding is it's own sort of fix, and I'm not going to quit it anytime soon.

From my limited experience, shortboarders seem to be more of the 'stoned variety' than longboarders.

As far as myself?

It just depends. If you would have caught me when I was young I would have been a stoner. Later years you will find me not a stoner.

Longboarders seems to be more into technical aspects of skateboards, so they seem a pretty serious lot.

You can see it in this forum and the quality of the posts and threads.

Other skateboard forums dedicated to shortboards have a whole different feel...I can hardly make sense out of some of their posts.

I will say that many longboarders seem to be more of a 'Zen mentality' that enjoys cruising and the mediative state that longboarding can provide. So maybe that equates to being stoned on a natural high?
