your opinion on joining the millitary

whell i have a few weeks left until i ship off to basic Marines training for 3 months as "recruit williams". just wondering what ppl think about the military. hm no longboarding for a looong time lolz

No, you won't have much time to skate during boot camp. But once you know where you're going for tech school/training, have a friend or family member ship your deck to you there, and then you can start dragging it around yourself as you move around ( depending on your orders etc etc..). Or, wait till you get assigned to your permanent duty station and have it shipped there.

When the DI's are telling you what a pig you are, Semper Fi and don't you cry If you get mad go into your barracks bathroom and take it out on the stall doors

You'll be WAY ready to skate once all the foundational training's over.

lol whell im probably going to be stationed in Hawaii or at least i hope so. i can pick if i go with the 6 year contract and i will graduate 2 ranks above everyone else. also doing rotc-so i can be an officer

Military is great for the right reasons...some of my friends are joining because that can't do anything else, they ####ed up in high school and now can't get into any colleges, and this is their only hope...

well. here is a way to make things alot easier.

-try your best to win the challenges that they will give you.
-become the scribe. you get special privileges or something like that.
-it might be to late now but get some collage credits so you go into boot camp as a pfc (private first class). you make more money.
-god does have a boner for marines. lol church is your best friend in the military, its free time to kick back and relax.
-this is most important. when they get in your face and yell at you YELL BACK. let them know you are marine material.
-keep your m16 clean.
-change your sox everyday in feild
-work out ahead of time. be way prepared.
-have your friends send you cool pics. there was an instance where one of the other recruits was showing a "special pic" that his girlfriend sent him to get a get out of pt free card.
-have NO food sent to you.

my dad served in the marines for 21 years. he would rather me go to college than join the service. college there is very very cheap. i have been contemplating joining the airforce once out of highschool because college is so cheap.

It was right for me in so many ways. Do what they say without any lip and the tough situations will be over fast. Open your mouth and you will become the mark. Get a school.... do not just go infantry and take what comes around. Show an interest in something and do it well.

After a bit you will go places that you can take your board with you that you would have never on your own.

the only reason i would join the airforce is for a cheap college experience. also, the airforce has the easiest boot camp. why take the hardest boot camp when the only reason you are joining is for educational purposes?

I am in AROTC at UA. I don't mean to be an elitist or anything, but to me, personally, the Air Force and Navy ROTC programs seem to be the weakest.

i thought about doing it to pay for college but im going to community college for first 2 years so it won't cost alot

What was your absvab score? If you do good on it it can give you all types of good reasons to do it. If you do sh*tty then your going to prolly just be basic recruitment. I got an 82 so that was tight but i decided i want to go to college. I think its cool your doing it though.
