Multiply is part of the darken family of blending modes. Basically it compares the blend layer’s pixels with the base layer on a channel-by-channel basis, but instead of choosing the darker of the two, it multiplies the base color by the blend color.

    Does that make any sense?

I'll do something with it but I'm gonna use it in a tutorial as a trade.

    Post it up.

that makes sense to me so it instead of taking the bright colors and multipling them it takes that dark ones and does lay 4to layer 3 then 3 to 2 and so on

    see the difference its insane
    the pictures look really cool
there is some stuff on google and deviant art about it

Oh wow those look amazing. I'll see if my mom can do it (graphic designer) and maybe she can help me out with a tutorial.

also: wouldn't you need several pictures of the same thing though?

Yeah with photoshop you can do amazing things
I will try finding more shots
I love photography i want to major in it and college and graphic design for the other thing but yeah.
You would need several pictures of the same thing. Like over exposed shots then under exposed shots.

Lol i wish my mom was a graphic designer i would make her teach me everything she knows haha.

    Nice....
That tutorial is using HDR.. I've been using HDR for my 3D
work for years.. For environmental global illumination..
You can do really cool stuff with HDR images... especially
in 3D software.. Here's an example of an HDR I shot then mapped
as the sky illumination in a 3D scene..
I use a 10" mirror gazing ball to shoot them.. Then take that into 3D.
The sphere in this is there just reflect the environment as an example...

For the tattoo tutorial: use the displacement filter to help make the image distort with the shape of the body. First (in the channels pallette) duplicate the channel with the most contrast and save the duplicate channel as a new file. Then turn on all of the other channels and go back to the layers pallette. Select the tattoo layer and go to filter> distort> displace and select the new file you just made. Apply the filter and you should notice the tattoo image has warped to the shape of the body layer beneath it. Play with the settings of the filter to discover what works best for your image.
