concussion?

do i have a concussion?

ive been actin RLY RLY RLY stupid last few weeks

and 3 weeks ago i was dancin at a concert, slipped and hit my head with ALL my weight (and thiers plenty of weight) on the tiled concrete floor similar in hardness to a basketball court but tile not wood

i was instantly dizzy and stayed dizzy fer the night

i WOULD have gone to the doctor but i kinda snuck out to this concert so i coodnt tell my mom

im still havin head rushes EVERY time i stand up or move my neck

but now its less severe and not every time as of3 days ago

so i eventually said to my mom i fell off my bed and hit my head on my AMP cuz i was rly scared i have brain damage

she said it was impossible for me to get brain damage from being hit on the hairline(WTF??) she said only possible from temples or base of skull

anyway are my symptoms from the head injury?

Go to the doctor my friend. Do not let people on teh interwebz diagnose you.

You only get one head/brain. Have a pro make sure it's OK. You'll feel much better.

YES, you do have a concussion. If you hit your head again in the next little while you could really do damage.

Stop skating/snowboarding/sneaking out to concerts for a few weeks. Recovery from a hit to the head is NOT linear, as in, you may feel better for a couple days, and suddenly feel terrible all over again. If you are getting dizzy every time you stand up that is usually a good sign that you have a head injury.

If you go to the hospital they would likely give you a CT scan to see that there is no bleeding or swelling.

Now, here is a question for you, did you see stars after you hit your head? If so, thats more evidence to suggest a concussion.

I dont want to scare you but head injuries are VERY serious, and being afraid of getting in trouble is NO excuse for not coming clean with your mom on a matter of such seriousness. Your 14, the worst thing you could face is a grounding....and you need to be resting anyway.

Please take it really easy until you are symptom free for 5 days in a row!(no more dizzy spells)

Agreed, perhaps you should fall over in front of your mom and fake a head injury to get you to the ER for a cat scan.

sounds like a nasty one to me.. one that you should see a doc for.

edit: 3 years ago i hit my head pretty hard snowboarding. i was learning, going too fast, caught my heel edge and whipped my head into the snow. VERY similar symptoms, i was "duhhhhhh" for over a month. i had no idea what it was until after it was gone.. and it was definately one i should've gotten checked. i ended up fine, i feel lucky. chances are after 3 weeks you will be fine, but you should see a doc. or at least try really really hard not to bump your head.

I wouldn't risk it because if you accidentally hit ur head again, it can be really bad ne way feel better

a few weeks id say

but i didnt go to a doc cuz my mom doesnt have insurance

but i wooda if i cooda

but yah im alright brah

and now im still stupid but no worse than i was before
lol
