how long do i wait to report a user for a bad trade?

hey,

about 3 weeks ago, I traded my old school 85mm blue kryptos to a user on the 'fish for his 200mm randals. I shipped the kryptos the next day, and they arrived 2 days later. I hadn't received the trucks, but i decided to wait before taking any action. it's now been about 3 weeks since we first decided to trade, and I still have yet to get my trucks. Last week, I pm'd him telling him that i'd be going out of town tomorrow (thursday/feb. 14) and that i'd need the trucks to be here before then. I had placed an order with MHM for an evo about a week AFTER i shipped my wheels, and was planning on running the randal's on it. the evo showed up yesterday, but still nothing from this user.

what really annoyed me with the whole thing is the fact that this person decided to put my wheels up on the classifieds before the deal had even been completed. I PM'd him about it and asked him what the deal was. He replied "it's none of your business if these wheels are the ones i got from you" and proceeded to tell me to "chill out..my trucks would be there by tuesday/wednesday the latest"...that was tuesday/wednesday of LAST WEEK.

i have all the PMs from this transaction as well.

anyone got some suggestions as to what i should do? or how long i should wait before reporting this person? I'm not one to kick up a fuss or point fingers, but I'm going to Virginia tomorrow, and now I'm not even going to be able to bring my board with me cause i don't have trucks for it. that really pisses me off...

I wouldn't have waited more than a week,and you have every right to make fuss.A trade or swap is a very old way of doing businees....it's a gentleman's aggreemet.....if one party has not done his part of the agreement the hole deal is sour.
Ask him what day the item shipped & how it went.
Telling you to chill out is rude and disrespectful.
Their should be honer among skaters or at least members of the fish

Received your wheels and had them up for sale before he bothered to even ship your trucks. ?!!!
Not a guy anyone else should want to trade with.
If you are trading with someone who only has 20 posts and is brand new hereI or something maybe it is a good idea to wait until his stuff shows up but anybody who has been here for awhile should be able to trust other fish in a trade.
Put his name out here so the rest of us know to look out.
Someone is going to jump to his defense and flame me but he is not trading right.

Since I have less than 20 posts i guess I shouldn't comment. I went throught a transaction in Nov on the fish where I shipped the deck within two days of "its a deal". One month later I got my deck in return, after many e-mail/pm no responses

. The deck was on the fish with look at my new deck with my $250 trucks but still ) on my side. I was on the verge of flying across the country to do some damage, since where I grew up if you welched on a bet or a deal there were real physical repurcussions. My wife talked me down and in my case it worked out and I happy with the deal. However, if the dude was trying to sell my stuff.... 10..9..breathe..8..think happy thoughts. Good Luck.

well, I PM'd him this morning. If I don't get a response tomorrow, I'll keep you fellas informed and aware of a potential scammer. I just want my damn trucks to show up tomorrow...that way I can actually USE my board on my trip...ugh.

OH god that sucks so much!! it sucks that fellow fishers cant really trust each other and even worse that strangers come in here to rip other people off.

man that sucks. tell us who it is if the deal doesnt go through and he'll get a fistful of ssg!!! and not in a good way ... or bad way?!

Back to the original posters question, imo, 2 weeks without replies, or a month without recieving a package is more than ample time to flip out.

I wouldnt fully trust anyone I havent met. you do it at your own risk, and that means reporting it as soon as it looks to go sour is fair game as well

Im a huge veteran of internet forums transactions, but generally I stick in state because it saves A LOT of headaches just meeting up with the person. plus you get to meet someone new and in most of my cases, a ew four wheeling buddy.

so post that guy up. theres nothing to put a fire under someones ass than a little reputation pressure. I know, I was on the bad guy side a few years ago (I wasnt trying to screw anyone, just took a bad turn). forum dudes put a little pressure on me to make sure and solve the problem. I even had a moderator in one of my college classes, lol, so...

post him up and watch it work itself out

Alright alright, everyone uninvolved calm down. OMGWTFLEDGE is fully entitled to his disappointment in the delay and I can only apologize for that. Before you go and report me/instigate a prepubescent SF mob against me just know that your trucks HAVE been shipped via USPS Priority and I've included quite a few free stickers in order to make up for my poor business practice. If it makes you feel any better your former kryptos have not been traded/sold away yet.....anyone interested PM me.

omgwtfledge, i remember trading with you, my deck arrived to you in what, 3 or 4 days? while i waited about 3 weeks along with other troubles. I understood that you have a life and sometimes it's too stressful to think about shipping stuff so i relaxed and let you take your time. Maybe you should do the same? this almost seems like karma

Yes, that was during finals week -- I shipped fedex ground (which takes a week by itself), BUT not once did I ignore your PM's. I have been relaxing, but I specifically told him that I'd be leaving for Virginia tonight. The trucks not arriving has now caused me to just not bring my board and forgo any skating I would've wanted to do. Aside from that, rtaps wouldn't reply to me when I tried to contact him about the trade. At least you and I kept a correspondence going, and I kept you informed of the situation...

In this case, there's been no attempt to do that, and instead, I've only been lied to repeatedly, as well as disrespected. I shouldn't be told to "chill out" when MY WHEELS are blatantly being sold before the trade is even resolved, nor should I be told that MY WHEELS are "none of my business". I could've cared less if the trucks didn't come until next week IF I wasn't going out of town; but I am and his poor business practice has affected my plans which has left me very sour. (As well as the fact that CLB f*cked me over and I haven't received my refund...it just adds to my assumption that I'm getting screwed)

rtaps-USPS priority shipping takes 2-3 days max. would you mind telling me when you shipped them? Just so you know, I'm not reporting you to anyone...like I said I'm not trying to point fingers, I just want this situation resolved, and because you weren't responding to my PM's, I presumed this was the only medium that would capture your attention.
