yeah oh #### there's this bump sticking out of my lower stomach,Like below the belly button so sorry no pics ( yes I am a boy so I know its not the other lump)
It didnt really hurt until now that Ive noticed it., so I googled it ,suspecting what it was , and it all adds up. so off to the Doc in the morning,
I dont do heavy lifting alot so I cant really think of how I got it, has anyone got one from riding a board,
well I wont be able to skate for like 3weeks ,talk about suc. its middle summer here.
so just for you who are wondering what the f@#k Im talking about, its when a piece of your intestine pushes through a weak part in an abdomanil muscil....when I was 9 I would have said "COOL" , But now Im like ooww.

I've had chronic asthma since I was 14 and it really sucks. I have to carry an inhaler when I skate, and until recently, I didn't have medical insurance so I had to pay out the butt for them. You'd be surprised what it costs to breathe, nowadays.

To complicate the matter, I was the recent proud recipient of a powerful Upper Respiratory Infection, which crippled my lungs and nearly killed me, twice. And now, after a visit with the Pulmanologist (Lung Doctor, sp?) I found out I have Subceutaneous Emphezema, which means there's air in my body, between my lungs and the skin. No bueno.

On the upswing, this Crunchwrap Supreme is mighty tasty.

Nyuklhed, there's different kinds of hernia and Kooky's sounds like an intestinal one. Those you need to get treated reasonably quickly. Depending on the specifics, you can have your intestines open up inside you. Not pretty.

Skating pools isn't listed as one of the risk factors for hernias, but I'd bet my internet 2 cents that it is. Take it easy for a bit and heal up, bro. Work your way into it all slowly when you start back.

I had a direct inguinal hernia in 5th grade . It was just like you described, right above my pubic bone.

Before and after surgery, I had to take a break from lots of physical activity where I would be using lots of ab support or otherwise twisting that area too much. I think lots of skating (pools, pumping, sliding, etc.) might aggravate it, so you might want to just stick to the mellow for the recovery.

mine was drainage from some kind of infection or something... i didnt think i had any kind of infection, but w/e

yep Kjp6 thats what I have , I have to contact a surgeon tomorrow, my Doc says no ab straining-lifting or sliding, I told him I skate, he said It may have happened from some lay back position, but sometimes it can just happen if theres a weak spot in the mussel wall,

looks like Ive got some time to repaint/varnish and polish my quiver

Sorry to hear that kooky, hope you have a speedy recovery. I've heard that the surgery isn't that big of a deal as far as surgeries go. Just have that bloody recovery period where you go stir crazy.

I had this super diesel cyst on my butt, and they had to cut off this massive chunk of flesh and leave it open to heal. Now I have a 4x1" scar. It's absolutely savage.

hernia's suck. The recovery is a bitch. Worse than the pero-anal fistula.
